When I was in elementary school, computers were rare and not very user friendly. Kindergarten is when most of my classmates first learned handwriting, but I could never think of anything to write about so I rarely participated. I also hated my kindergarten teacher, and would often refuse to do what she told us to. In first grade, everything we did in class seemed to interest me a lot. We had lined paper with huge spacings, and every page was accompanied by a picture I drew myself. Most of my stories were pretty much directly copied out of Magic School Bus. First grade also made writing seem fun. We always shared out stories with the rest of the class and posted them in the hallways. However, when it comes to cursive, I can write my name and nothing more. I had very bad handwriting (I still do) so never did to well on penmanship quizzes. Second grade was pretty much a complete failure for me. I didnt ever write anything worth while until fourth or fifth grade, when I started doing book reports and writing longer stories in open study time.
